F4000 is a steel front frame-mounted tie-down pair. This listing focuses on select 1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty square-body pickups. F4000 is also listed for other older Ford and Dodge/Ram trucks; the part number alone does not establish fit on every 1997 F-250 or F-350.
The 1997 Ford Running-Board Split
- F-250 HD, 6.5-ft bed: TorkLift's application guide lists F4000 whether running boards stop at the cab or continue under the bed, subject to exact cab and truck details.
- F-250 HD, 8-ft bed: The guide lists F4000 when running boards extend past the cab onto the bed. Without such boards it lists F2000 instead.
- F-350 HD, supported beds: The guide lists F4000 with running boards extending past the cab; without them it lists F2000.
Installation and Kit
The front pair has vehicle-specific frame brackets and removable inserts. The historical TorkLift guide notes that drilling may be required for F4000 applications; running-board or bed-step brackets may also need modification, with added installation labor. Follow the instructions for the exact truck rather than assuming a no-drill fit.
