TorkLift F1000 SuperHitch Original 20K
The F1000 is a vehicle-specific, frame-mounted dual 2-inch receiver hitch for listed 1981–1997 Ford F-250/F-350 pickup applications. TorkLift's current fitment table covers 4x2/4x4, gas/diesel and 6.5- or 8-foot beds within that Ford range. The older store title mentioned only 1997, missing the other listed Ford years.
Check the 1997 Body and Rear Tie Downs
For a 1997 F-250, confirm the classic heavy-duty pickup rather than assuming the new-body F-250 light-duty has the same hitch fit. Check the exact frame, factory receiver and bumper arrangement in TorkLift Find Your Fit before ordering. Changing from a factory hitch to a SuperHitch can also change the truck's rear camper tie-down part number; TorkLift lists R3503 for its compatible SuperHitch rear tie-down application.
Ratings Without an Extension
- Weight carrying: up to 17,000 lb loaded trailer / 1,700 lb tongue weight.
- Weight distributing: up to 20,000 lb loaded trailer / 2,000 lb tongue weight with the proper weight-distribution equipment.
Those hitch figures apply without a SuperTruss. If towing behind an overhanging camper, a compatible SuperTruss uses both receiver openings, is purchased separately and has its own lower length-specific rating. Never exceed the lowest rating of the truck, hitch, extension, ball mount and trailer. F1000 ships with application hardware; install to its current instructions.
