TorkLift E1648 Cannon 48-Inch Extension for 3-Inch Receiver
The TorkLift E1648 Cannon provides a nominal 48-inch extension for a compatible 3-inch factory receiver when a truck camper creates rear overhang. TorkLift's length-specific matrix lists 3,000-lb trailer / 300-lb tongue dead-weight capacity or 6,000 / 600 lb with an appropriate weight-distribution system. This is a Cannon single receiver extension; it is not a dual-shank SuperTruss for a SuperHitch.
Confirmed Fitment
- For a supported Ford Super Duty installation with the required 3-inch factory receiver; confirm the exact model and factory hitch rather than relying on truck year alone.
- Measure the camper projection from the truck's rear bumper and choose the shortest extension that clears it; confirm coupler and turning clearance.
- Use the lowest rating among truck, receiver, E1648, ball mount and trailer. The higher pair of limits requires weight distribution.

Included and Required
One E1648 Cannon extension with included lateral-support safety chains; check all pins, clips and connection hardware against the printed packing list. Wiring, ball mount and weight-distribution equipment are separate.
Installation and Fitment Notes
- A 48-inch extension has lower limits than shorter Cannon models. Never borrow the 36-inch model's rating.
- Follow chain, hitch pin, ball-mount and clearance instructions specific to the factory 3-inch receiver.

Choose E1648 only when the measured overhang calls for a 48-inch reach and the truck has a compatible 3-inch factory receiver. The 6,000/600-lb limit requires a correctly installed weight-distribution system; otherwise use the 3,000/300-lb ceiling or any lower component rating.
